The Best “Tzatziki” recipe
Tzatziki recipe by Rania
The truth is that any recipe tastes better when prepared in its country of origin. In the same way once in our home in Patmos you must try to make your own Tzatziki as it will only take you 10 minutes or so. Believe me it will be worth the effort!
Ingredients:
500 grams strained yogurt (I prefer the kind “Total 2% by Fage)
1 medium peeled cucumber cut in small cubes
half a cup of freshly cut dill
2-3 teaspoons extra virgin Greek olive oil
a small splash of white vinegar (only if you have some)
1 crashed clove of garlic
salt
Preparation
First cube the cucumber is very small square pieces. Don’t use the grater as it will become too soggy.
Add the garlic, yogurt, oil, dill, vinegar and salt, stir and refrigerate at least a couple of hours before eating. Have it with some grilled zucchini and great Greek bread or with your souvlaki and you will love it!
Good luck!
